E s t h e t i c s

Baroque as a design style has had an enduring afterlife and in the beginning of this century has had a contemporary resurgence often linked to cultural changes in emerging economies. Rhapsody in Forest’s designs execute how a collision or a combination of Baroque and Modernism can contribute to the development of a truly contemporary jewellery collection. Readings of the history of the Baroque suggest not simply a vocabulary of floral or leafy surfaces but more importantly a vigorous determination to generate an emotional and physical impact on the senses. Complex layering, contradiction, discordant arrangement, energetic impact and the essence of sensation are key words in the collection.

Th collection is inspired by the essence of the Baroque, that constitutes a complexity of vision, by using many contradictive elements. The design has found a new way to reinterpret this sensational impact.
